Former Vice President Al Gore said Democrats need to put on the brakes and stop using the word treason regarding President Donald Trump and the Russia investigation.
“Anything having to do with the investigation, I just think people ought to wait for Bob Mueller to conduct his investigation,” Gore said Wednesday, according to The Hill.
Gore made the remark at the Newseum in Washington, D.C. He was there for the premiere of his new climate change film, “An Inconvenient Sequel: Truth to Power.”
With several Russia accusations thrown at Trump, some Democrats — including Sen. Tim Kaine, D-Va. — have suggested he might be guilty of treason. No concrete evidence Trump or his campaign colluded with Russia has been made public.
Mueller is serving as special counsel for the Department of Justice’s Russia probe. Several other investigations are ongoing in congressional committees on Capitol Hill.
