Bernie Plagiarizes Stalin With ‘Economic Bill Of Rights’

2020 presidential hopeful Bernie Sanders – who thinks Americans would be “delighted” to pay more in taxes – touted his ‘Economic Bill of Rights” during a Wednesday speech about Democratic Socialism.

Suggesting that he’s destined to carry out FDR’s “proposed economic bill of rights” which the former president was unable to enact due to an untimely death, Sanders pitched the crowd on “a 21st Century Economic Bill of Rights,” as RedState‘s Elizabeth Vaughn reports.

Yet as political expert and radio host Mark Levin pointed out on Fox News‘s HannitySanders has essentially plagiarized Joseph Stalin’s 1936 Soviet constitution, and “stolen his agenda.”

RedState‘s Vaughn compares and contrasts:

Here is an excerpt from Sanders’ speech via RedState:

***

A Bill of Rights that establishes once and for all that every American, regardless of his or her income in entitled to:

  • The right to a decent job that pays a living wage
  • The right to quality health care
  • The right to a complete education
  • The right to affordable housing
  • The right to a clean environment
  • The right to a secure retirement

These six “rights,” which define Sanders’ platform, are indistinguishable from the rights identified in the 1936 Soviet Constitution, which is also known as the Stalin Constitution.

Please read Articles 118-122 of this constitution. (Source: Bucknell University)

(Emphasis mine.)

ARTICLE 118. Citizens of the U.S.S.R. have the right to work, that is, are guaranteed the right to employment and payment for their work in accordance with its quantity and quality.

ARTICLE 119. Citizens of the U.S.S.R. have the right to rest and leisure. The right to rest and leisure is ensured by the reduction of the working day to seven hours for the overwhelming majority of the workers, the institution of annual vacations with full pay for workers and employees and the provision of a wide network of sanatoria, rest homes and clubs for the accommodation of the working people.

ARTICLE 120. Citizens of the U.S.S.R. have the right to maintenance in old age and also in case of sickness or loss of capacity to work. This right is ensured by the extensive development of social insurance of workers and employees at state expense, free medical service for the working people and the provision of a wide network of health resorts for the use of the working people.

ARTICLE 121. Citizens of the U.S.S.R. have the right to education. This right is ensured by universal, compulsory elementary education; by education, including higher education, being free of charge; by the system of state stipends for the overwhelming majority of students in the universities and colleges; by instruction in schools being conducted in the native language, and by the organization in the factories, state farms, machine and tractor stations and collective farms of free vocational, technical and agronomic training for the working people.

ARTICLE 122. Women in the U.S.S.R. are accorded equal rights with men in all spheres of economic, state, cultural, social and political life. The possibility of exercising these rights is ensured to women by granting them an equal right with men to work, payment for work, rest and leisure, social insurance and education, and by state protection of the interests of mother and child, prematernity and maternity leave with full pay, and the provision of a wide network of maternity homes, nurseries and kindergartens.

And as Vaughn notes – about the only thing Bernie didn’t pluck from Stalin was the “right” to a clean environment, something humanity was far less concerned with in 1936.

  1. Bernie is now safely on “auto pilot”. He has passed the acceptance of enough people who obviously believe that history of Communism does not play any part in today’s politics. It is clear which group he aims his speech at., they are a generation who think what Sanders is selling is “the new way.” His offering of “Free everything to everyone” sounds like a dream to the ill-informed. They are bored with the fact that “sooner or later, Socialism fails because it runs out of other people’s money”.
Sanders is selling the same old thing, he has repeated his same strategy over and over again He has been indoctrinated.. He doesn’t change, he’s consistent, what he counts upon is that you are so inured to his speaking points, and heard it repeated for years, that it must be an acceptable option, even in the most classic Republic of the United States of America. He stresses what “his” government will give Americans, not how much it will cost, and from whom the money will be confiscated. And, speaking of confiscating from others to give less financially endowed folks more, there has been no answer to the possibility that those whom “confiscation” is aimed at, can find various & effective methods to divest themselves of what Communist Bernie sees as riches there for the taking. Caveat Emptor! (Let the buyer beware!)

    1. you could understand the people in the early 20th century not having access to information that would enlighten them. No access to books, or dependable media. They were kept in the dark on purpose. IE: Hitler, Stalin & Mao as examples.
Today in the USA, the American people have access to all info at their finger tips. But, cannot tell you who the VP is or who & why WWII was fought. They also don’t care and are not the least bit ashamed at their ignorance. They just laugh it off. The statement “those that don’t know history, are doomed to repeat it”. Is true in every sense.

  2. Before we unconsciously “lionize” Josef Stalin, it would be wise for anyone who has never learned what his record was with his own people…who incidentally never voted for him. He ascended to rank of Chairman to the ruling faction of the Soviet Union, The Communist Party. The politics of his rise to power was fraught with mysterious deaths, murder, incarcerations to hellish “gulags” deep in freezing cold Siberia. In many gulag venues, no fences were really needed, one was sent to places from which one could walk out. This was remote Siberia to which one would escape. Hardly anyone survived his escape, one was in the midst of a freezing cold land, where the largest mammals live; the huge Siberian Brown Bear, and the huge Siberian Tiger, both high on the list of land predators and mankind was on their menus. It was so easy for Communism to be rid of prisoners, most all sentenced to Siberia for rejecting the rules of Communism. The freezing cold, the huge predators, that was the way the Red USSR could get rid of prisoners. They expended little ammunition for firing squads, Siberia itself terminated defectors to Communism. Next time Bernie makes a speech, think about the penalty the Russian people had to face from the Communist government which controlled virtually all human life in Russia and its various states.

  3. Since Bernie has now made clear his love of Russia, and has “stolen “Joseph Stalin’s economics plan…you would have to be stone cold dumb not to know what he is after. Under the two forms of Communism one renamed “progressive” plain out right Communism and Hitlers socialism, both of which has been tried across the world to the Nations total destruction, and murderous systems that has lead to the death of Billions as well as the Nations collapse we now know what they are planning for us.

  4. Right-wingers continue to make idiotic accusations against Bernie Sanders of being a “communist ” and a “Stalinist “. And he didn’t”plagiarize ” anything from Stalin . Anyone who actually believes Sanders intends to turn America into another Soviet Union is either an idiot or a liar . This wouldn’t even be possible anyway if he did .
FDR was not a socialist . His economic goal of helping Americans out of unemployment was just common sense, not “socialism “. Conservatives in America don’t have a clue about what socialism, Marxism and Stalinism are . They just stupidly accuse anyone who is even moderately liberal of being these .
America has no far left . But the Republican party has gone so far to the right it only seams that way .
The GOP isn’t conservative – it’s regressive now . It’s downright medieval . The Republicans want to “take America back – right back to the dark ages !

    1. You, sir, are no doubt one of the uniformed members of this great nation. No one allegedly sane would even consider defending Bernie. He by his own history had a great association with the Russian form of Communism. There are no winners in Communism or Socialism. England is an alleged Socialist country and they are almost bankrupt. Russia lost the battle to rule outer space by the method presented by President Reagan. He used the vast resources of America to bleed the Russians dry and they become defunct. Their adoption of democracy and the free market saved the nation of Russia. They are a powerful nation now because of their loss of the Communist way.

  5. Amazingly that old bastard never held a job, hippies whom let him in to their commune had to call police to evict him. He & all anti-Americans from our lands! Death to them all!

  6. The fact that the people of Vermont keep reelecting Sanders, it makes you wonder what’s it like to live there.

  7. I agree with you Pam but Robert Berger does not. He thinks the Conservatives are destroying the world and the USA in specific. He thinks he knows all about Communism and Socialism but in truth, he knows little about either form of government.

  8. There are several questions needed for Bernie Sanders?
1- Who will define what is a decent job, a quality health care, a living job, affordable housing, and so on?
2- Who will pay for those “rights”?
3- Where will he get the money to cover so many “rights” when there were no more rich people to be taxed heavily?
It is easy to promise any benefit, but demonstrating how to pay for it is the issue. Not any single socialist country was able to provide what it promised. When what was “inherited” from the capitalist system got exhausted, the outcome was horrible. Check Cuba and Venezuela.

  9. Stalin`s economic was set on the millions lives who is working and died for free in a concentration camps ! Bravo Sanders ! This is excactly showing of your real face , your f-g “democracy” and fascistic idiology !
