President Trump has just confirmed that former ISIS leader al-Baghdadi’s replacement has been terminated (killed) by American forces in Syria.

“Just confirmed that Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi’s number one replacement has been terminated by American troops. Most likely would have taken the top spot – Now he is also Dead!” the President tweeted just moments ago.

More via Reuters:

“President Donald Trump said on Tuesday the U.S. military had killed the person who likely would have succeeded Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi as the leader of Islamic State.

“Just confirmed that Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi’s number one replacement has been terminated by American troops,” Trump said on Twitter. “Most likely would have taken the top spot.”

Trump did not specify who he was referring to, but the United States on Monday confirmed the killing of Abu al-Hassan al-Muhajir, Islamic State spokesman and a high-ranking figure within the jihadi group.”

Reaction on Twitter to Trump’s announcement was swift:

Great job Mr. President keep up the good work!

  1. Good job Mr. President! Smart move in not telling Pelosi! Washington Post is a disgrace new paper. Given enemy credit while America people buy this crappy new paper! I will not be surprised if Obama is really the leader of ISIS! Due to fact he left our military equipment there for them to use against our military.
